Muteki owners/past users?
I was wondering if you guys needed washers or anything else to use them. I'm going to try putting these on my box this week, and I wanted to know if I needed a washer or something Like I keep reading about for other lugs.
I was also curious if anyone knew of a lug lock that looked very much like these, I don't like the idea that anyone can pick up a pack of these and still try to jack my wheels. Yeah I know anyone can steal ANY locked wheels with the effort, but no ones going to want to waste time with this much hassle.

from what i know mutki are crap. i would not use them over oem lugnuts. i have rays duranuts. they are high quality and high priced(mine were $130 for 16 lugnuts and 4 lock nuts, but worth it for security, quality, and looks. if you want a cheaper but still effective lock nut i would go with gorilla. i just read a post thata member posted about how he got new rims. other members noticed he had directional tires on the rims and had them misplaced so the tread was in the wrong direction. he was going to fix them but said he couldn't because his muteki lug nut key cracked. they are known to crack and if you look all over the net you will find proof. i have never heard of rays or any other high quality lugnuts, or locknut key cracking or stripping.
same with kyokugen lug nuts, i would never buy them again. gorillas arent too bad. but i cant see myself spending 130 for rays or work lug nuts even though i want them so bad. as of now, im lookin at some buddy club lug nuts.
my friend told me that there's a certain torque I'm supposed to tighten them at, and that they're not locks, but more just a stylish lug nut. I still want to gorillas but, I don't like how their tuner locks look. Thanks for the info though. I might have to look into those other brands.
I had a set of Mutekis on my tC and Kyokugens on my 240sx. I hand torqued them at 75-80 lb-ft with a torque wrench, and never had a problem. If youre worried about stripping a nut, place a paper towel between the nut and key to create a tighter fit.
Close-ended Gorilla Tuner nuts look just like the close-ended Mutekis. I ran this Gorilla/Muteki combo on my tC.
or just buy a set of Gorilla tuner nuts. They look identical to Mutekis (makes me wonder if they were manufactured by the same people), except the Gorillas are not lightweight and slightly narrower seat ( by 1mm).

get them at summitracing.com for $26

they are nuts that use a special key, but that key fits all gorilla lugs of that style. in that regard, they are just like Mutekis.
search summitracing.com for a wide variety of different Gorilla lugs. they have alot.

If they are just like Mutekis then they probably suck. When I installed my Muteki lugs, the key broke, thankfully on the last lug nut. Then the car was totaled so luckily I didn't need to take them off.
