Default New to Scion Life! Will I rub with anything bigger than 205?

With my 2005 xA project, I’m gonna be running 15x8 rims with at least 205 width tires stretched.

Will I rub with anything bigger than 205?

I’ll also be running 25 offset also my Avatar should be my Scion before I modify it, I was rebuilding the suspension fully.

Did you check either here...

ScionLife Tire/Rim Calculator

or do a 'Search' on here as I'm guessing lots of people have tried running 205s, and larger, on an xA. In fact, if I scroll down on this post it shows someone running a 215 and someone else with a 225 with a +20 offset on an xA.

Mine had 17" Enkei's with 215/45/17s at stock height when I got it. Haven't changed anything. No rubbing, not sure of offset.........

i didn’t know there was a whole place dedicated to it, I’m trying to set a precedent with power and I don’t wanna loose grip , I’m trying to break into the 400 ft/lb of torque range anyway I’m getting some 205’s in and getting em on my 15x8’s on Friday 45? Aspect so I’ll have room for lowering springs or coil overs

You want to run huge power, you don't want to lose grip and you want to do it on stretched tires...not exactly the preferred combination for what you think you'd like to do.

205’s on 8” wide rims rims isn’t much of a stretch it’s almost flush I believe

Actually a 205 is exactly 8.07" wide but your previous claim was you were going "with at least 205 width tires stretched." A stretched tire of any kind isn't exactly the hot ticket for hooking-up big power but your setup should be fine, although I did question what your plans are for your build in your other thread.

whats wrong with my plans? I have a machine shop within 100 miles big bore the engine because my cylinder bore is scratched pretty deep I thought 205 would be a stretch 205s are already really wide

205/40zr17 on 17x7.5 +35. Rolls lips and minor pull, no rub and I’m dropped on Tein Street Basis Z’s, maxed out in rear and front is dropped even. No rub

i run oversized tires on stock rims, 205's with a larger aspect ratio. Rubbed for about 2 months until it ground away its clearence into the fender well plastics, then all was well

....???? you can only bore a 1nz up to is 0.02" (0.5mm) over. Also finding it hard to find the rails that this train of logic traveled to have anything to do with one another.
