Default Please help....215/40/18's??????

I am currently looking to purchase a set of wheels for my xB. I am wanting to go with 18's. However, I am not really feeling the 35 sidewall. Will the 215/40/18 tires fit without any problems?? Please help!

Well...hard to say without more info.
What size/offset wheel?
What suspension/ how low?

I ran 215/40/18 on a 18 x 7.5 ET35 with no problems on DF210s.
Now Im on 18 x 8 ET32 and still only have a very slight rub.

I am going with Bronze Drifz 517's and stock suspension (for now anyways).

everything would be fine. just when you lock your steering wheel at full lock, there will be rubbing issue. that is the only problem that you will encounter. Scionlife.

You will not have any issues as long as the offset and width on the wheels is right. a 42MM offset on a 7.5 inch wide rim will make 215/40's just barely touch the inside of the wheel houses at full turn left or right. More offset will hit harder, less offset likely not at all. Too much less and it is possible to hit the fender tho it would not be likely at stock height.

I always go to Discounttire.com and check to see what tire/wheel up-sizes will fit. They have a calculator that will show any speedo change in the new size too....comes in handy when shopping.....And as TerribleTed said, as long as you are using the recommended rim width and offset, there shouldn't be any problems.

I'm planning on this size upgrade also when I need new tires. I'm always so paranoid/**** about checking tire pressures when you can't tell they are low by just looking at them.
Like Ted said, you should be fine.

I didn't figure that the relatively small sidewall size difference would matter. Just wanted to be sure before I buy them and get stuck with my decision. Thanks again. I will post pics as soon as I get them on.

The biggest difference is in the ride quality. The 40 series ride much better than the 35 series....much smoother
