question
i've had balancing problems when i had my new wheels installed and had to go back and get them rebalanced. since then they have been great. then the other day i drive about 80 and noticed my stering wheel start to shake? is this normal? i have sport max 002's. i wonder if anyone else is experienceing the samething or is it just another bad balancing on the wheels and tires?

If the wheels keep going out of balance, you could have a bad set. The belts maybe be shifted in the rubber material. If they are reletively new, I would contact the vendor or manufacturer and let them know about it and how you've had to balance them 2 times already.
Did you get an alignment done also? If you don't get the alignment done with new tires and they are already problematic, you may think it's just the tires. Then after you balance the tires, you notice it's slowly coming back. Have your suspension checked to make sure your tie rod ends are properly adjusted and tightened.

guys ....if possible you guys try the balancing on car.....that will help alot....but it cost alot of money todo balancing on car (they don't offer lifetime balancing, just on time and its about $.15 per tire)....hope that helps.....

Quick question: Since you are using aftermarket wheels, are you sure you have the right size centering rings installed in them? The Scions are designed to be hubcentric mounts, and if you use just the lugs to center the wheels, they will eventually shift and cause just that sort of problem...

All I'm doing is asking if the wheels have the correct size rings, since that can cause this sort of problem.

My box is stable at 80+. Get the phenolic (plastic) rings, not the metal ones. You *can* mount w/o rings, but as Tomas stated, you will eventually have the exact problem you described.

Mine came from:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCION...70273135QQrdZ1
No problems, fast delivery.
These are from the same seller, but I cannot remember if this is the CORRECT size!
Double check the size!! It must match the specific wheel ID and your hub OD.
