What I'd like to know is why you'd get 20's in the first place? They mess up the ride, they're way too overpriced, you couldn't fit 'em on a box easily anyways, with or without lowering springs, and they just plain look tacky. Save your money and go with 17's, something that actually has some tire on it. [/rant] Oh, and ignore everything I just said if you're going VIP.

I disagree about the 20's looking tacky!! I have 20's on mine, and it looks great, and the ride didn't change that much. We did have to do some minor modifications to the wheel well, but it was worth it to me. It really depends on what kind of tires you use on how it will ride. I have Nitto's and a friend of mine has 20's with BF Goodrich. Mine rides much better then his. His is also lowered 2"s. When he had Nitto's his rode much better.

Given that you'll have to go with 25 aspect tires on 20" rims to maintain decent power and speedo accuracy, ride will obviously suffer. If you lower it, then ride will suffer again. Just the way it is, basic laws of physics...

No matter what you read or hear, 25 aspect tires aren't really intended for anything but track application- they and their rims are very easily damaged on the usual crappy roads we all deal with...

If it's the look you just can't live without, then go for it, just be aware of the tradeoffs... expense is one of those tradeoffs, too...

20's make you stand out from everyone else.Ex. 19 inch guy or 17 inch guy.Handling and driving blah blah.20's on an XB it's like when guys run 22's on there trucks. To have a huge rim on a vehicle lowered looks tight.

Sure 20's look nice but what about the weight of them. You just added all that weight to a car that has 105 hp. I'm sure your losing something there.

I love my 20's, im on coilovers right now and tuck rear tire and drive it daily that way. Granted the 30 series tires ride alittle rougher but ive been in xbs with 18's and 35 series that have rode way worse. As far as weight it all depends on how much metal is on it mine are light for 20's since there 5 spoke. It does affect the braking but nothing horrible. Anyways current pics of my setup

I have super low profile tires and want to kill myself because of the ride. If you drive much at all, get some more tread than what the 20's would allow.

oh and by the way the sidewall of an 18 inch 35 series tire is the same as a 30 series 20, so ya super low profiel
