Default School me on Low Pro's

205/40/r17 on 17/7. I switched out the stocks for these but i notice how differnt the car steers now. Its like either the wheel is way lighter, or the something. the car turns in very fast, the tires track everything (every nitch in the road) and they seem to wander (front wheels only). Had the car aligned and it does inded drive straight. Could i be because of the tire size versus stock and the weight difference. School me on low profile wheels. And yes as soon as the 205's crap out i will be going to 45's, so please dont bash me about 40series tires i have learned my lesson

Low pro tires have less sidewall deflection. That is why they have a faster response time to the inputs fron the steering. This is what also causes the stiffer ride. It's a trade off from comfort to performance. 17's are a happy medium between 19s and 15s. Kinda the best of both.

so taking what you have said, should i decrease the stiffness of my shocks( i am able to) I am still getting used to adjusting and finding the best dampning point.

Yes, the lower the sidewall the softer the shocks should be to compensate for the stiffer sidewall

also your tires are too small.

they should be 205/45/17 or 215/40/17
(not bashing)

what suspension do you have ?
and yes softer shocks. but again this will lead to more body roll. kind of ruining the (suspension) upgrade.

This F*edit* guy always says what I was gonna say, right before I do. Glad you learned your lesson about LoPro tires. They like to kill rims, and get flats as well as the other downsides that you mentioned.

Nothing as long as it's a 215/40. Most 205/40's are under weight rated and are suseptable to being cut on the sidewalls. I had this happen on a Nankang NS1 205/40/17

problem number one you had was it was a NANKRAP

lol

nothing wrong with 40 series . but a 205/40 is smaller diameter than stock as well as often under rated for weight.

Never again I promise!!!! They were hella noisy too. I hope the P-zeros are quiet. The Kuhmo 711s weren't bad.

amazing except for two things. price , tread wear.
i was a die hard avs es100 fan.

then i was liek lets try cheap (as i'd had kumho's before and getting 6 tires for 6 wheels i wanted to save a bit)

got the 711's almost as good in every respect and better in some.

quieter , last longer , cheaper.

yeah if you want stickier but won't last as long as cost twice as much in 17 inch sizes get the yoko's.

if not get the kumho's.

i'll pretty much use yoko and kumho tires for ever car untill i get one that needs slicks.
