Default Spacers or No Spacers

Okay so I picked up some wheels off a buddy of mine who had them on his civic. The wheels look bad a$$ but a few people have said that I should get spacers to get the rears to be as far out in the wheel well as the front. Question is...anyone use some? Any driveability issues? Any safety issues? Thanks for any feedback!

We would need the wheel specs to give you a definite answer. We need diameter, width, and offset at a bare minimum. The wheel brand and model could also help.

I will say that a set of OTG hub shims in the rear would likely help out making them look flush.
