Spacers-are they worth it and how wide is right
Spacers are pricey-I talked to a guy and found out it has to do with the machining and the cost of good aluminum-so I get that but are they worth it?
I have some 5mms wheel spacers and already and want more. On my cabrio I ran 20mm and they were just right but I am still trying to decide what to go with on my xB.
The OTG ones are 10, there are 25mm bolt on wheel spacers (too much IMO) and there are some that I found that are 3/8 inch (9mm) for half the price of the OTG but what evens out the xB so they look matched to the fronts?
I am only going to drop my xB about 1-11/2 inches so I shouldn't have to worry too much about rubbing (215/45-17 in rear), I just want to make sure I get it nice the first time.
Any input out there?

I was running sportmax 501 with a 12mm otg style (custom made) rear spacer and it was about perfect. Here is a pic...

This is a, how long is string, question.
IH8ONYU -"spacing is dependant on the offset of your wheels.. not 1 size is right for everyone.." is exactly right.
H&R have been making spacers for many years. Their spacer kits come with longer studds & nuts as needed. Spacers have been used for race & show without issue. The trick is, to know what you are doing when using a hub mounted spacer.
For the Scion the OTG or the Keoki are the best solution for the rear - hands down. The front is a different animal. Time should be taken to insure that the studd & nut have enough interferance to avoid any failure. When you loose a wheel, the first question that comes to mind, is, "Where did that wheel come from?" as it accelerates away, into the woods....... & out of site.....

Hey, I lost a wheel before, make that 2, BUT not from using a spacer. Spacers work fine as long as you know what you're doing. A lot can go wrong, & will, especialy when dealing with the front end.
