Default Sportmax 501 15x7 Vs 15x8

I have been trying to figure out what the easiest solution to replace my ugly steelies and have decided to go for the 501, and of course going to stretch the tire
With the ugly streets of New York dont think I am going to be lowered anytime soon.
Without any hassle of rolling fenders, rubbing, or tires bursting, which would be the better choice ? anyone have pics from the rear undercarage to see the wheelbase with each or how far they stick out ? I have been in and out of so many threads with many arguin over what will do what I figure lets put it into fact here. Thank you so much !

didn't realize they made 15x7, thought it was only 15x8. I got the 15x8 (+15 offset) and have no rubbing while I'm dropped on tien s techs.

sportmax specifically made the 501 for the scion xb owners. 15x8 +15 fits perfect on xb's and looks real tite

The 15X8s do stick out too far plus you would also need wider tires for a proper fitment. The 15X7s would be perfect for the stock Goodyears with zero risk of tire issues. Remember tho these wheels do not like being exposed to salt and snow. People have had issues with the clearcoat peeling and discoloring.

I know what you are saying Mario but for the mean streets of NY and daily driving those wouldn't last 6 months. If it were any other place they might survive. I could imagine what the first curb he hits would do to that lip sticking out.

whats he doing hitting curbs anyways? The only reason those wouldnt last 6 months is if someone didnt know how to drive or doesnt take car of the rim.

Yea, if you stay away from curbs, there shouldn't be an issue.
Those are the 15x8?

Guess you all haven't driven in NYC huh??? I hate even having to drive my heavy duty van there with 245/75/16 in tires.
It's NOT HOW you drive. It's THE roads that suck. Potholes from he!!.

nothing at all wrong with stretching tires, we have been doin it for a while in the euro scene. I myself am running 13x8 rota rb's with 175/50r13's on them. Its done all the time with no issues at all. I have 15k miles on mine and there holdin up great.

and here is a project car i have been workin on with 195/45r15 on sportmax 002 in 15x8 et0

and this is my buddy jons vrt gti with 400whp and he is running a custom set of hre's in 17x9 et10 with 205/40r17's

yah there curb fealers and there goin to rub but if you want to play you have to pay!

Shortbusdriver, the 501's will not stick out like the 002's do. As you can see on supermario's wheels dont stick out.

On my other xB site, alot of them run 15x8 +0 offset. If lowered the rear fenders need rolled, or camber the rear -3, if you are not lowering, then they should be fine. I ordered a set of Work in 15x8 +0 myself. These are all 15x8 +0.
