I have a 2006 xB, I would like to put all seasons on it. I want something that will do well in light snow. I don' t want them to make a lot of noise or ride rough.

I was going to get the Yokohama TRZ's I have those on my wife's 1999 camry. Been on there for 2 years and I an happy with them. But I've read a few reviews complaining about the increased noise as the tire wears. One person made a comment that had them on an xB, they said they ride rough.

What are your suggestions?

well i haven't heard any noise coming from those wheels and i bought a new set a few weeks ago

 

I recommend Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. 960s are a quiet tire. Michelins are pricey.

 

I'd say pricewise Falken 912s are hard to beat. I just got a set of 15s for around $250 shipped

 

Hands down the best all-season tire is CONTINENTIAL CONTIEXRTEMECONTACT DWS TIRES, I'm begining to sound like a pitch man for these Conti tires, but its not that, what is is that its such a great tire! Forget about the POTENZA 960 which are very exspensive and not as good as the CONTI, the GENERALS, MICHELINS..............Take a look at my tire reveiw on the CONTINENTIALS on the tire & wheel thread!!!

 

On 15" wheels go 205/50/15. The Bridgstone 960's are awesome tires. The BFG Super sport A/S is really good also, they use the same carcass as the Michelin PS2 but are only $103 per tire.

 

I like the Bridgestone Potenza RE92, it's classified as a performance tire, but they're pretty cheap and I used to have them on my Spec-V and they did quite well. Plus I used to work at Firestone and rarely had any complaints or problems with them. just my opinion

I have Kumho 716 Solus in 195/60-15's on my 2005 xA and they do well in the snow so far.

 

i have the Yokohama avid trz on my gen 1 and i love them, very very quiet. i noticed immediately crack on over passes on the road you dont hear them. about the ride i think the side wall is a little stiffer the the factory good year ____s but the B doesn't really ride like a Cadillac everyone knows that unless you have bags. the wear is no problem, as long as you keep up with rotation and aire pressure, i have 6,000 miles on my set, wouldn't turn back. Over all im am more then impressed with the Yokohama TRZ and for the price a little over $200 for all four excelent tire.

 

Ordered me a set of the Continental DWS's for my B based on the phenomenal performance reported in seasonal conditions. Dry is definitely great according to the ratings as well and I paid a really good price too! Havent received them yet... lol

We have had General altimax HP and Falken ZIEX 512 on the box. The Generals are very good inexpensive tires, and they are lighter than the average tire also. They were better in the snow than the Falkens, but the falkens are great in rain. We have never gotten the Falkens to squeal, and thats saying a lot. But they are noisier than the Generals. Neither has great treadlife if you are an aggressive driver, but for $60 or $70 you can't really fault them.

 

I forgot to mention that we also went wider with the Falkens, so that might have been why they weren't as good as the generals in the snow.

for $386.63 delivered, including shipping and CA sales tax. This is $50 or so per tires cheaper than Big Brand's price. Big Brand wanted to sell me "The Cooper Equivalent" for $592.64 out the door.
I am having the tires directly shipped to the same Big Brand. They will mount, balance, valve stems, nitrogen and rotation for $25 per tire and
$20 without nitrogen.
This site has all major brands at great prices, they do not use distributor middlemen!

 

I've got new style Falkens on my `05 xB(don't remember model). I live in Florida and they are awesome in the down pours. I've heard from others who live up north that they are good in snow. My 2 cents.
