What size Rims/Wheels - 15" or 16" or 17"?
I just order my 06 Scion XB in Thunder Cloud and am interested in getting some new wheels but have a few concerns about getting anything over 15":
1. I do not want the ride to get any harder/hasher.
2. I live in New Orleans and am worried about damaging rims on roads/pot holes...Happend to wifes car and damaged 20" rims.
3. I prefer to keep cost down by not having to buy new tires if I go larger than 15".
4. I can get 8-9 spoke 15" rims in Gun Metal Gray for $200.
Any input or ideas or pictures woudl eb apprecaited.

You can go for a bigger wheel if you want. The ride does not come to much worse from what I have read. Now the weight added might be bad. I my self am going to stick with the 15" size for the weight savings. I would guess most here will tell you to go with at least 17" wheels or bigger.

16's
you still get a 50-series tire (wide selection)
wheels are lighter
fewer styles to choose from than larger wheels
they are right about tires, but the stock tires kinda suck (to me)
and there are a lot of really coooool 15's that'll fit nice

Go with 14's. You get to go to a higher profile tire ( I used 195/65x14) that gives a better ride. The 14" wheels are cheaper and lighter. Really made a big improvement in ride quality on my xb!

These two threads ought to give you some good ideas of how 15s look. I am dropped on 15s with Hotchkis and love them. Our roads suck real bad around here and I would not go larger than 16.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I am leaning towards the 15"'s as you stated, just wanted to get some support for the reasons I had.
If anyone is interested, Pep Boys had Silver and Gray 15", 16" and maybe 17" rims on sale for $50 each. Style 928 and 950.

Get a wheel which will compliment the TCM. Of course, silver goes well with anything, but its something to think about. I have the gunmetal, and I really like the look.

Max,
Nice looking XB...can;t wait to get mine.
Is that factory tinit on rear windows...I never reaslized how dark they come stock...I guess most people just tint the 2 front windows to match?
Also, where did yoi get that grill?
Thanks
