Well its really going to depend on the offset of the rim its on. I dont think you can get a 235 tire in an xB wheel well though. My 225s rub like a big dog...

I think you need to learn more about the rims you have. Find out what the width of the rim is. Also find out what the offset is. You can measure the width of the rim with a ruler. On the inside of the rim there should be a number stamped somwhere that says ET##. It should have a number like ET35 or ET40. Something like that. Once you know these two things picking a tire is possible. Im certainly no rim and tire expert either but these are the basics....

Well, on a 7.5" wide rim I would run a 205 tire or at max a 215. I cant believe they have 235s on there right now. Does the tread of the tire stick way out past the edge of the rim???

actually the rim say on the inside 7x7.0P and yeah there defintily 235 on it is that not cool, there not sticking past that far. i thought they were 7.5 because of it was worn away on the othr rim. so i defintly should not run that wide a tire?

I wouldn't go any bigger than 215/45/17's.

215/40/17 is virtually the exact same as stock diameter wise.
