Advice? Bug/Stone Deflector or Bra?
We owned the car four days and someone clipped us parallel parking. It was only eight days old when we got our first ding in the windshield from a stone on the freeway.
That said, it's a priority to get something to protect the windshield. There are several on Ebay available (Wade and other brands), but I'd love to hear from owners who've gotten either that deflector or the bras (partial, stock or custom, clear or regular) .
What has worked for you? What hasn't?
More questions (sorry)...if so, what brand? And where did you purchase?
Thanks so much for any response

I've always had deflectors on my trucks, but i think it might look dumb on an xB. I don't think a bra would do much to protect the windshield though. I had the 3M PPF clear protection put on my car recently to protect the paint on the front end from rock chips. I had the front of the hood the front roof line mirrors and front edge of the front fenders and the headlights done. Hopefully that will protect it good this winter. IN Alaska there is always gravel on the road in winter adn lots of truck tires.
GOOD luck with your decision.

I have the AVS bug shield and like the looks of it but it will do nothing for the windshield. The only thing that will protect the windshield is a "Garage"

I've got the AVS bug shield on my Xb too:

I got it mostly to help keep bugs off the winshield and it does a pretty good job of that. You'll still get some but it cut back bigtime after I put it on.

They are called bug deflectors for a reason. Face it, your windshield WILL get trashed no matter what you do.
That said, get a COLGAN Bra. Full bra if you are worried about your bumper and you should be... Mine has saved me countless timess. Especially from a nasty dip in a parking lot that you couldn't see due to free tar.

i have a clear wade deflector and still have had pebbles hit my windshield. in fact, it doesn't really do much about the bugs at highway speeds either.
i like the look, and the hood is nice and clean. there are some scratches from rocks on the fron bumper though. a clear bra would definitely help there..

I had the.... Hood, Fender and Mirror Kit and the Bumper Kit.... of X-Pel... put on my xB recently... I had to go to New Hampshire for the nearest factory trained installer... he did a great job.

I'm having a clear bra put on the lower front of my 5 day old xb. Can't see spending two hundred plus to do the hood. I've got the bug deflector on and think that should protect it...unless some drops a rock from above.any other thoughts on just doing the bottom? Thanx
