I have been tooling around in my drivers door and noticed another wire harness that is unused. I have been trying to think what it could be used for but I have no clue. I'm not sure if the same harness is in the other doors because I haven't gotten in the other doors yet. I can't think what Toyota would want to have prewired in the driver's door. Can anyone shed light on what this unused harness could be for?

 

It might be left over from the bB. The bB comes with power folding mirrors for parking in tight spots.

 

I don't think it is for the mirrors. (trust me, I just wired mine for power folding mirrors) The harness he is talking about is taped up underneath the window and lock switches. I don't know why I didn't trace it back while I had the door panel off...

 

Yup! That's the one I'm trying to find out about! Anyone have any idea? xB_Nutt, where did you find the power folding mirrors? You like?

I'll bet it's for LED's in the door handle or some such nonesense

 

You could always check them and see if they are hot and what circuit they are part of.
