The masonite could look ok but it's gonna suck up the paint unless you coat it first with some sealer or maybe fiberglass resin. Good luck and let us know how it goes. I may try this later depending...

I just took a ride to the store , they want 40 for the piece of fiberglass and like another 50 or so just to cut it . . I didnt think it would be that pricey , what thickness of masonite should I try, I might even be able to cut and smooth it with a handsaw myself. Though i did like the flex the plexiglass gave . .

I think I always use 1/8th inch maybe 3/16th.
