Anyone have switch to bigger wheels but no drops. Show pics!
Even tho the big wheels fill up much of the wheel well, there's still that unsightly gap on top that would drive me nuts. IMO every xB should have at least a 1" drop, even on 20's
NF210's or H-Techs will also help absorb some of the abusive ride of 30 series tires...

Yes 30's is risky especially if you live here in San Antonio. There are pot holes everywhere... My brother wants to drop it a little but it is just too much? The suspension is kind of giving up on us has this happened to anyone else in here?
I have 215-45-17's
My husband is a certified tire technician and alignment tech. He says not to go bigger than this tire size on a 17" wheel for the xb. Mine almost rub. But I knew I wouldn't be able to afford the drop for another year or so. So when these wear out, it'll be time and I will go to a small side wall. If you want a smaller side wall on the tire for more of a low profile (but less wheel well filling) then go to a 40 instead of a 45. Or lower if you want. I wanted to fill mine so it didn't have a big gap.
You can use this info to make judgement calls on tire size for an 18" or 19" as well. Just reduce side wall slightly for each size, and so on...

Here is mine on the optional Enkei 18's. I am getting ready to hitch her and start using a trailer so I might not lower it. I am also going to go with 225/45/18's instead of the 35 series as the roads here suck. i know it will affect the speedo but it will ave my rims and my kidneys. Ive got the k2 halos on their way too to clean up the front.
Had 18 w 215/35-18-didn't like it much. The wheels were heavier (bigger wheels are) and this slowed it down and it rode ok over bumps but the rough roads were murder.
I got 17s w 205/40/17s-better, definiely quicker and handeled well but big gap and still hard ride, went to 205/50 front and 215/45 in the rear and now it rides so much better.
Corners better due to tires gripping, rides much more solidly-feels like a stout car yet the performance is still much better than the 18's.
As far as photos-check my profile-the chromes are 18, blacks are 17

anyone know of a dropping spring that drops it to get rid of the ugly gap BUT wont be like so easy to scrape on every bump? or am i just going to be giving that all up ? like i live on a hill, and to get into my driveway it another steep hill, will i be scraping like a ***** if i plan on doing a drop? thanks (Hope this is on-topic, if not sorry)
I just found the really cool suspension buyers guide under where it says "vehicles" in the top left corner of this web-site under the Xb and it gives a break down of rate and drop. I am in the same boatr because I don't want to run rubber band tires.
TRD, Tein h-tech, Tanabe NF210 are all ones I am looking at.
