Just how different is a fuel lid door off a Japanese BB compared to an American market xB? You guys really eat this JDM crap up like it was candy.

I talked to a guy at Exposed. It seemed pretty involded. Something about drilling out rivets on the factory door, and riveting it back to the new one? Sorry I don't remember the whole deal. Good luck with it.

Yes, I believe you drill the old rivets out and then use a rivet gun to attach new door. Check Lowe's, Home Depot, etc for a rivet gun they run less than $20... Practice a few times on something else before doing to the real think...

75?? ouch 180+ 75= 255.

bro be brave and DIY.. i installed my injen intake by myself and springs with a helping hand..much more work than to drill out and rivet..
im sure it will be a piece of cake..
but if you feel more conf doing it at the dealer more power to ya.

Just drill out the stock riviets and rivet the new ones in. It takes like 5 min!

http://newscionparts.com/product/?id=1035

150 here plus 20 bucks for the rivet gun equals installed for less then you bought just your fuel door...

if you really don't feel comfortable doing it then have a pro do it. simple as that. sure you could save some money but i've heard that line one too many times and the job can't be finished or the finished product just looks like a horrible piece of ___ workmanship. unbolting something, then reinstalling it is a tad bit different from drilling and riveting. no offense but an intake and a spring install considered HARD or even moderately challenging with help compared to that? you must be kidding. the springs maybe if you don't have a spring compressor handy for the fronts and you'd like to chance it but still... *shrug* to each their own.

I checked the labor to R&R the gas door, its .3 of an hour (which means 15m), best to check out any body shop, if its just rivets they should take care of it. I guess the dealer is just charging you an HR of work.
