Default Black chrome

Does anybody know of any places online that do black chrome plating?
Any idea what kind of money it takes to get it done?

it takes a lot Miguel. I had talked to a shop about getting some parts done. They chrome it, then blacken it somehow. The price he told me would be twice what normal chrome is. Theres places I'm sure that will do it but I dont think a lot want to he said because of the extra work. I cant remember the name of the place I called in Omaha here, but I know they did it. They were in the Yellow Pages under Metal Plating or something of that nature. Ill try and find it.

Hey there Scott, how's it goin'?

Yeah, I called a couple of places last Friday here in town; one never answered at all. I left a voice mail with the other and haven't heard back. I'll try again in a few days.

LOL, nice sig? Has it worked for you yet?

there are very few places that still do black chrome. it involves re nickle dipping the item after it has been chromed, and yes it costs about double what regular chrome does, i can think of two companies around me that do it still, hitech metal polishings in sante fe springs and wesden.....but i dont remember where they are hope this is more help than frustration

I found a place in Orange County adn the employee was really cool. He actually has a rs1.0 with black chrome interior parts.

The owner never returned my messages for like a month and a half. Then when he did he quoted me this over the top 500 something price for some small parts.

I hate poor customer service and over pricing!

Does anybody know of any alternatives that achieve similar results?

Spray Chrome has come a long way. Still expensive but not nearly the price your talking for real chrome.

ah KRAP! looks like we have resorted to the Kragen help desk...son of a beezy! whats next? curb feelers and some 100-spokes? I have yet to see spray chrome that comes even close...I mean, try it...but for the love of all that is good in this world..MASTER the art of spray chrome before u attempt it....I think it looks more like ceramic coatings on headers than chrome, even when its done right! if anyone has some pictures to prove me wrong, I would love to see em

I didn't know black chrome was such an intensive process. Makes sense that the price of it is so high.
