Oh cit....

...just kidding. Those are actually for a MR2, nice billet camber plates by Ground Control that my pal J.G. has lying around his garage, nice pieces of work. Working for a car magazine has it's perks...
Here's what we really did-
Out with the old...

In with the new...

Special thanks to Malibu_Rapper for his YDR intake install write-up, definitely helped me at least understand what was going on. J.G. could do it in his sleep... I got the Injen for $75 on Ebay but it didn't come with anything except for the pipe and filter (it was off a supercharged car so it was some custom setup...) J.G. used parts hanging around to connect everything, and the next day I fabbed a little rubber mount for it for in front of the battery.
So lots has been said about the SRI (Injen and YDR) so I won't bore you with an exhaustive review, except to say all the positive things about the mid-range power gains and overall driveability are definitely true. The sound is more subtle that I expected, maybe it's just the exhaust note overpowers it... the Magnaflow's low rumble is killer, not at all ricey.
It really does feel power went up at least 10%, and in the most usable range. Lovin it.

Yeah there's a noticable difference to how the power delivery comes on, much more responsive when you floor it, pulls harder from 3-6k. I had the exhaust on a few days by itself first, that was a very subtle difference that was probably just placebo effect of the sound
But the Injen is something you can def feel.

Survived Wilma, here's a few pix after I hosed the car off-

Got my exhaust sorted also... at first the muffler was installed upside down and was a bit low. Couldn't get it much higher because of the bumper bracket, but it's pretty well centered in the opening. I really dig the mirror finish on the backside of the magnaflow.

So here we are in Fall and my little Summer Overhaul is still trucking, but should be completed in the next two weeks. Thanks for reading this far

TCM looks so good in the late day Florida sun!!!! Just washed mine after Wilma and I hope everone down south made out OK. This cool air has made my Typhoon intake happy. I actually spun my 15's today for mor than a split second and I have a automatic.
Anyway, you car looks hot, after seeing the post of the Jacksonville style bB with the chrome handles and window trim I may have to save up for that stuff now.
