Put on my painted tails today. The color match came out perfect. I checked in different lights and angles. Installation was a little trickier then I thought. Some of the plastic pieces in the back had to be trimmed with a blade so that the tails would mount flush. Anyways I think they look dope. Here are some pics.

didn't everyone hate these taillights unpainted when superxA posted them? Funny how all of a sudden their bad ___ now that people see em painted. No imagination what so ever.

Aside from getting them color matched at a body shop (actually I had scion fx use their body shop because I live driving distance and could pick them up), all I did was to do some trimming on the back of the tails to get them to fit. There are little plastic posts that are too long and too thick so I cut and shaved them down. Also on one of the tails I had to do some other minor trimming on the back. None of this is visible with the back door open or closed. I also had some BSP touch up paint which I used to paint the back side lip on the outside edge. This way even if you are like an inch away from the tail there is no show through from the back.

 

Looks pretty nice.
