Yeah I want to see an xB with a true chop that still has a roof. I wish it was just a matter of "chopping a chunk out of the pillars" I would have done mine already. That white one is still pretty tight though nonetheless.

Haven't you seen the Five Axis one? that is the only true chop that I am aware of.

Gotta give it up for the white one up there, that takes ***** to do that to a new car. Can't wait to see it finished.

Many of us have contimplated chopping the top, including myself. Our ideas end at the reality that we cannot get the glass made for the vehicle, specifically the windshield which has a relatively complicated compound curve. I got as close as getting an estimate for new glass, the windshield specifically, and at a cost of $9000.00 not considering the cost of labor, the project got scrapped and I moved on to other more impactful body modifications.

But who knows, you may have endless pocket, good luck to ya ..

The white one is a cop out. Most likely someone who didn't have the skill to perform a true chop. I can't speak to the execution or quality of what they did, but stylistically I think they failed.

As far as $9,000 for new glass, I don't think you thought it all the way through. You need to work smarter, not harder. There are methods that will work just fine and would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce that $9,000 bill. I'm not going to try and explain everything here, but just do some browsing on the internet. You'll find what you need.

And if the wife ever decides she wants a new daily driver, chopping the top on the xB will be the first order of business.
