de-badged
Well, I thought about it for a while and went ahead and did it. I removed my badges off of the rear of my xB. Both the Scion logo and the xB logo and I feel it really looks great. It was a very easy job too. A heat gun, fishing line, Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover and a towel is all it took. If you havn't done it yet or if you are thinking about it...do it. Only t hink is if you wait to long there maybe a bit of color change under the badges.
I've been doing it for years, My Chrysler 300M, Audi RS6, the Box, and even my Benz, I just like the stealth look, It's great with the RS6, people just look and stare when you knock out a 4 sec. 0-60 and they have know Idea what you are driving

in terms of our xB, the scion and xB bades do not flow with the lines of the car and they are both obnoxiously large for the size of the rear hatch. the debadge gives the back of th ecar a much needed cleaner look. same goes for the front grille piece.
people also debadge to keep the model of the car anonymous for aesthetic, performance, or sometimes security reasons. many luxury and exotic cars have the option of factory debadge, where they will not put the badge on the car at the customer's request. (aka BMW)

My wife has a silver BMW E36 M3 ( what a beautiful car) and I am removed the M3 badge from it. It is just funny to me to see how many idiots ask me what kind of car it is. I normally with a strait face tell them it is an older concept for the Ford F40 or I just make up a name on the fly.
I discoverd a thing that drove me nuts today about the xB. The front scion logo is so very easy to remove. It is just to stinking bad there would be a big hole felt in the middle of the grill if I left it off. The xB would look so great it didn't have the logo on the front!

one reason for debadging - CLEAN
To a lot of designer-type people it just looks so much better.
To many, leaving them on is like getting a new TV and leaving all the '1080p! HD REsolution! Longer Battery Life!' metal stickers all over it.
Or like leaving your 'I'm a VIP at Crap Cars' license plate frame on...
It just gets too messy and noisy and advertisy-ish.
'Shaved' is always beautiful. ;-)

The only exterior ID on mine is a bB badge on the front and the tiny Toyota logos next to the DOT info on the windows. I've had more than a few people walk round and round the car trying to figure out what it is -- as if I wouldn't need to explain anyway.
I HATE badges on my vehicles. I was so happy when manufacturers switched to stuck-on badges. No holes to fill and repaint.

The xB is the bB in Japan. the bB badge is small and rectangular, about the size of a Zippo lighter. The bB lettering is stylized and doesn't call attention to itself. The badge fills in the hole left when the big Scion logo is removed from the stock grill. Or, rather, the bB logo fits into the recess that was meant for it in the first place, that the Scion logo covers up. I used the bB badge because I didn't want to get some other grill, didn't want the big honkin' Scion badge, or a weird hole on the grill.
