I haven't de-badged a car yet, but if you have had the car for a period of time I would assume that it is dirt that has built up over time and needs to be cleaned. I would try a simple cleaner wax first (I use mothers) follow the directions and see if it cleans it up or not. If that does not work you could try something more aggressive like Meguiars Scratch-X. I would assume that one of these two would fix the problem.

yea ill try that.. i went at it real hard with goo gone spray and also soap and water and scrubbed it for like 5 minutes and.. nothing.. i guess ill just go big right off the bat and get the scratch x, i dont want to spend money on something that may not work.

Hope it's not this but..you might have have dirt and grit behind the emblem and when you took off the adhesive by rubbing, you may have hazed the paint by scratching it. Getting rid of it depends on how bad the scratches are. Seems like it's light so you may be able to get it out with polishing. It's kinda like taking off bird poop without wetting and wiping with water. If you take off bird poop by rubbing with just a wet paper towel, sometimes the rocks they swallow will scratch you paint.

Goo Gone strips the wax off, so waxing that spot should do the trick.

mine was like this too when i did mine, i just hit it with some light rubbing compound, followed by a polish then a wax. I also had a couple of scratches from me trying to get all the adhesive off, so you may be able to skip the compound if you dont have any scratches.

i got some wax and did that.. and while at it i went ahead and did the whole car haha.. but it took it off pretty good.. there is still like some weird look almost like the paint was a TINNNYYYY bit faded.. its hard to see, only at certain angles can it be seen.. but oh well its pretty damn close do not even being there.

If it really bothers you I am sure there is a solution. I am assuming that it is like when bird droppings sit too long on the paint and make the clear coat hazy due to the acid in the droppings that eat at the clear coat. You can try rubbing compound and follow up with polishing compound which should take off the haze. (Because you are removing a small amount of clear coat). I would be very careful when trying this because you can go through your clear coat. If you got the Scratch-X I would try that. Scratch-X I think is much finer in grit than polishing compound so it should be harder to mess up your clear coat. But I am glad to hear it worked for you.
