Default Dual exhaust exit from the sides

I am thinking of my next mod and have done some investigating. I want to run duals exiting just in front of the rear tires. I would pocket the side skirt or cut a section out sort of like "ELENOR" on gone in sixty seconds. Clearance has been a problem. I have attached a pipe there to check clearance and it is too close. I thnk I can address this with a larger pipe flatened into an oval for clearance and flow. I may even consider a rectangle section spliced there. Problem is the skirt. It doesn't allow me the space to pocket it. Has anyone attempted this? Would another skirt work? I'm working on it but my prospects look dim. Any info would be appreciated.

I thought of that also but not enough room so I did it a different way.

i did mine but i only did it on the passanger side becasue thats the way the pipe angles out, i used 1.5x3" tubing and it worked well, tucks right under the sideskirt, so i went back and made a dual tip so it looks better, just need to weld it on

kzhorse,
Thanks for the reply! Doesn't that take up more room than pocketing the skirt? I ran a pipe flush against the body and had issues moving from an incline to flat ground. I got contact just past high center. Don't you have any problems? What size pipe is used to crossover? That looks pretty wild.

I saw it on a xB at HIN this year. Its Adams car (I think that is his name. I am bad with names and have met hima few times), I thought I took pics of the side, but I guess not. But if you can find more pics of this ride, then you can see it.

The pics of kzhorse's car has got me re-motivated. I'm thinking of a rectangle pocket housing a rectangle stainless tip. I guess the next step is to remove the skirt but I think I'll try to find a damaged junker first. That way I can cut it and not worry if it don't fly. I still would like to see someone with it already cut out and done.

There are several xbs with duals. What's the diff just because it's out the side? I think that it would look pretty cool. If you don't, then don't do yours. Pretty simple.

The silver two tone is HOT! Love how the side exhaust actually looks nice. Anyone have more info on it?

He doesn't really hang out on the forums. It sounds real sick and he beats the pi$$ out of it.

I will se if i can get some info on it from him. He owns a shop in my area called Grafx they do all sorts of insane custom vinyl. Plus he is a cool guy so he would most likely be forthcoming with the info.
