Default Emergency Lighting for Firefighter

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on aux. lighting for a volunteer firefighter?

Thought of wig-wags but the one I looked at - I would have to drill a 1" hole into my mirrored-stock headlights - and I don't even know if we'll keep those or upgrade to projection? I'd like something like wig-wags or strobes, but I'd like to hook it up the wiring for the headlights and add a toggle switch? Can I do this? how would it work with the normal use of headlights?

I also thought about wiring through the hazard lights, but I wouldn't be able to use plain hazard lighting then, and if I'm broke down on the side of the road I can't have strobes and stuff flashing, it's against the rules

So then, my other option is a plain little dash light or visor/headliner mount light, which I guess would only be able to go through my cig-plug and I don't like alot of wires, I already have too many.

I am needing help and advice with exterior and interior-mounted emergency lighting if anyone can help or answer these questions, let me know asap!!

PS- also wondering about mounting the mobile radio? (I'm not electronic-literate) I think I want to mount it above the cupholders (even though my Jack-in the-Box Large Drink will nolonger fit after that)- but I'm confused on wiring?

And the siren? does anyone know if I have to disable the horn? I don't think so, but like I said, I'm an electronic/wiring dummy!!

So- Anybody out there read the book Firefighter Wiring in Japanese box for Dummies??? I hope so! I'll make a big mess of my RS3 with no help...

Now that would be a way awesome! A box with emergency lights all over! Sweet!

If you not handy with electrical/electronics, you need to find someone who will do the install for you.

There are lots of LED based strobes for cars out there. You could mount couple of thin ones at the inside top edge of the windshield and tailgate glass. The you could put another set in the foglight openings.

For the specific lights search Google or eBay for "emergency led strobes" or "led strobes". You should find lots of them.

A siren usually works independently from your horn. Each is on its own circuit.

Headlight strobes should do the trick.

I have a blue/blue strobe from www.lightsnsiren.com for under $100 and it comes with everything you need. I got rid of the cig. plug and and wired it to a switch. I think this is the easy way out and I am sure you have a friend that could help you out with this simple wiring technique. I want more lighting (strobes) so I am more noticable when I am going to calls but not sure about install and cost to do something like this.

There are sets like this all over Ebay. Put them behind the upper grill so they can't be seen unless they are on.

As for wiring get a add-a-fuse adapter and plug into one of the open spots in the fuse box without any splicing. Just run it to your new switch and from the new switch out to your new lights and you are done without affecting anything else in the car. Check your power because each column in the fuse box has power at different times, meaning some have power only when the key is turned to the on position and some have power all the time.
