Driving to a bike trail with my wife and dogs, failed to secure wheel on my wheel carrier of my bike rack and and bounced off. A truck hit it and sent it flying. I pulled over, the truck kept going. I climbed down a hill to get my wheel and fell into thorns. Got my BENT bike wheel back and hopped into the car, still no sign of dude in the truck. Start driving back home, get to the driveway trying to call local police just to cover my ___ in case dude calls in saying I didn't stop. Phone wont work, toss it on the dash, bounces and hits the windshield, hitting a chip and CRACK..... needs replacement. Looking at that in astonishment as I drive into my garage to hear my roof rack ripping off. In all the excitement of the other two things, I forgot my bikes were still on the roof rack.

I ripped the roof rack off the car.







The garage is fine, and the bikes are fine. The tires hit the wood trim around the garage door. Yakima makes the rack so strong it will push the roof of your car down before it bends the clips on the rack. I did have to order one new q-tower, and a new tray for my copperhead mount though.

I had something similar happen to me about 2 years ago, I had my bike on the rack and had a brain dead minute and saw a parking garage and thought I'd take some pics in it, luckly the ceiling was just tall enough to barely catch my seat.

It ripped the seat off and put small dents, nothing like yours, I hope your luck starts turning around.

Great choice on the rims though, I'm running the same ones as you. What tire are you gonna run? I have a 195/50 on mine and it looks awesome.

Maybe its the angle, but the front 3/4 shot makes the lip look ridiculous... in a bad way... but from dead on its beautiful... Im so torn! looks amazizing

 

im not a fan of the lip, never have been. but it looks good on your box and i am glad to see its fixed. The gold 501's look awesome (but i am biased lol). looking good man, really clean.
