Default Finished Hood

Took a new XB hood and a Celica GT hood, and with a little cutting and welding, ended up with this.

Very Very nice - for a damn change.

You did a very nice job from the design standpoint and followed through with what looks to be nice fabrication.

The design is in complete sycnh with the xB's existing shape. Most every new redesign up to this point has completely ignored the existing styling and had very rounded shapes or large protruding scoops. The recessed semi-flush scoop effect keeps the smooth flat profile appearance and the Celica's bridge has just enough curvature to it's square shape to follow the xB's design.

Something else that is very nice - it's the same color as the damn car!!! God I am so tired of seeing cars that look like they're in the middle of getting body work done and looking like they haven't gotten around to painting the hood yet (....carbon fiber).

I would vote this the nicest hood design yet. Bonus points for using an existing Toyota MoCo design and parts - kept it looking like something that could possibly be OEM.

There'll soon be "Lowbox hood" copies everywhere

A+

Getting ready for work so I will have to make it short... as for the underside of the hood , I have reworked the bracing so the stock hood insulation will fit back in place. There will be a hole cut in the insulation under the scoop.
As for the grill and the headlights, both of these I have done myself. I will go into more detail this evening. I will post pics of the underside of the hood when it is finished.
Thanks for the A+

If you decide to mold & produce that hood I'll be first in line to buy one. Nicest one I've seen.

That is an awesome hood.

I agree, I like that style alot better than most of the ones that others have tried to fabricate.

The lines are smooth and still true to the xB design.

Great job on that.

Any plans for special order?

Easily the bst fitting disign of any hood scoop so far. Many kudos! Do you notice any change in performance or wind noise? I know our Scions aren't big under the hood but, just wondering...

I especially like the fact that it is not so "different" or huge that it looks out of place on the xB. Alot of the hood scoop mods before yours seem to be way over done and not true to the aesthetic of the Scion.

Congratulations on your well-executed mod! :D

I agree. Very nice -- and original. But I imagine it's way too subtle and tasteful for the look-at-me-look-at-me crowd.
