Gauging interest color matched tail lights.
After my recent classifieds sale and some of the follow up comments, I'm gauging interest in doing a batch of color matched tail lights.
My old painter is no longer able to hook up cheap paint jobs, so I checked with another shop. From the sounds of it, if I can get $150 per set, it'd be easy to crank these out. The price would be a little less if I was doing multiples of the same color. If you provide your own lights, that will also cut the price down.
Here is what they look like on my xB in TCM

It'd be cool if I could make this a GB or something... but not sure yet. PM me if you'd like in on this or post up if you have questions.

Did this for show last year, changing the style up this year.
These are Thundercloud Metallic painted tails, the paint is very light so the lights are still visible through the paint. They are not street legal (no visible reflectors) and can be difficult to see light through them in the day because of the metalic paint, however at night light can be seen easily.

I'm interested in a group buy...but since it was my idea for this thread...any possibility of a discount?? hehe
I cant go to high in price getting marries in a couple months. If my price is too low, please exclude me...sadly

Interest is kinda low...the pricing I worked out only works if I get at least 5 of the same color. Group discount kind of thing... It'd be easy to photochop this if anyone needs to see a color. The other car that I know of that did this, was a hot lava that did a smoked black, which looked really nice. Did the rear red reflectors, and side markers to match.
Cool! I think with your LED setup, there should be little to no problem running these day or night on the street *(minus that little bit about no reflector)*
Yes, that is true, we did this to a set of xA tail lights on BCS's car. I personal did not think it looked as good as on the xB. The xA tail lights have lines and contours that the solid color takes away from.

The first picture sort of shows it, I had the hazards on. During the day, the metalic paint makes it difficult to see, the flash from the camera makes the left lense look just painted, while the one in the shade shows the flashing light. Brakes are about the same brightness. This is one reason why I said they are not to be run on the road. Kkawana is working on making some tail lights with a lot of very bright LEDs, when he's done I think, his LED setup and these lights will make an awesome combo.
I had mine done about 2 months ago. BOP. Took my base paint code, mixed in with euro clear, shot 3 layers on the stock tails. Looks great, easily visible during the day, looks stellar at night. I will post some pics asap.
