Default GI: New 'Celica-style' CF hood from JSP America

Hi everyone,

I just got off the phone with the product develpoment department at JSP America (www.jspamerica.com) and was speaking to them in regards to them developing a hood for the xB. After talking about a few different styles, we decided that if there was enough interest, they would develop an OEM style hood.

But, we also decided that there is already enough OE style hoods and we need to come up with something different.

That got me thinking of lowbox's and NJthunder5spd's 'Celica Hood' (thread located here--> https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=41803&start=0 )

Sorry to the guys for stealing their pics:

Two more pics of Lowbox's:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/4...72ee0000002610
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/4...32ec0000002610

I proposed the idea to JSP about doing a cf version of that hood and they are down for it!!!

Pricing is not firm yet, but would be offered for the original GBer's for about $420USD or so. For an additional cost, you could also get the hood in coloured carbon/kevlar weaves!!!

Please copy and paste this list and add your name to it if you are interested. Adding your name does not 100% commit you to buying a hood, but, please dont just sign your name for the heck of it (hopefully, you have SOME interest in purchasing the hood)

If any more info is needed, please contac me directly at kris@underground-highway.com

Oh yeah, they need 'about' ten people interested to produce a hood. Itll take about a week to start producing hoods (so, this means you wont be waiting untill next Auguts for a hood)...

I feel kinda bad about stealing LowBox's original idea, but it is the best looking hood out there. I'm in.

Pricing is not firm yet, but would be offered for the original GBer's for about $420USD or so.

Just curious if that price includes S/H? Probably not. If not, any guess??
Thanks.........Don

Actually, the company that makes the products for JSP is located about 30minutes from me here in Canada....

It does not include s/h, but, a deal could prolly be done for people in the same state. IE, all Cali hoods shipped together, etc.
In the price "may" be ballparked a bit high im told, but, better to say a price is higher and have it be lower than the other way around!

same here actually, if they could make a fiber glass one instead (cheaper?) I would prefer that one.. not doing the CF thing for my box and it would be a shame to have to paint over a CF hood

I think cf is getting played out personally. You have a lot more options with fiberglass.

I second that! Any thoughts on fiberglass as well?

I actually chopped a Celica hood to start mine in metal, but if fiberglass was offered, I would jump on that instead.

You won't have a problem getting people to buy these. They're the only non-OEM hoods that don't look silly.
