Default GrillCraft for xB (Pix)

I have good news for everyone thats been waiting for mesh grills! I've been working with the guys from GrillCraft and they are done with the prototypes for a 3pc kit for the xB! :D
I went in today to have the tooling for the upper grille. I watched Jeff make the whole thing by hand, using a CAD to make the jig's for the frame. Its BADASS!! The pix are only of the upper grille cause thats the only one they had left to do the tooling on, but it will be a 3pc kit and available in Silver and Black for now. My car is their guinea pig so it wil be in the installation manual and the first one to have the kit. I will post more pix when I go back to have the install in about 3-4 weeks. You can visit their website @ www.GrillCraft.com

Looks good Can't wait to see what it looks like with the lower grills. Also, any idea on how much they would be going for?

I think they said around $325+-. Pretty good considering its a 3pc kit and the toyota one is only the upper and is about $264 .

Grill Craft makes really nice stuff. That said, have em make the mesh just a little thicker.........then it would be something I'd be willing to add to my enormously large credit card bill, and I've been watching my mods lately!

Looks sharp....looking forward to the final pics though with all 3 installed. As some have mentioned, a little thicker wiring would probably look better, but it still looks good as is as well.

I dont think there's much I can do about the thickness of the mesh because they use the same gauge mesh on all their car's. Like I mentioned before its the prototype so its not powdercoated, the coating makes it appear alittle thicker. I belive they have about 130 different applications and they've yet to have a problem with the mesh being too thin.

If it's going to be coated then, I think it'll be all right. My friend's Integra looks good with that grill on it.

Sorry, but that just looks REALLY cheap. Cheap like DIY in your garage with some home depot chicken wire and a fifth of Jim Beam.

Someone's getting ripped off:

http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-A...l-no-22449.htm

Available in silver or black,

$92.54 for the upper
$139.44 for the 2 lower grilles

I've been looking at these for awhile, but wanted to see it installed...not bad looking.

I was looking at that too(eautoworks.com) but when I checked grillcraft's site they didnt have one listed for a xB, so I dont know what you get when you order that one. And if you look at the part # its the lower grille for a 99-00 honda civic.

No it's not, you're going based off the picture at the top that lists a part # and it says "Sample picture item may vary by model"

The part # for the upper is TOY 1850-2004 and the bottom 2 is TOY 1851-2004.

Is there some kind of fiberglass or backing for the upper grill? Don't like the idea of having an open mesh grill up top :?

Here are some pix of the install. The top grill wasnt installed because they are still designing the backing to disrupt air flow through the top grill.

- The only way to install these grill's correctly is to remove the front cover of the car, its pretty simple.

- Here is a close up of the silver mesh, and a mock up install of it.

- And here's the final product in black
