Grrrrr........<---grumbling
Ok, so today I replaced my busted Xm antenna (dealer installed) with a nice new smaller unit. My old one had stopped displaying text. So I use my trusty blowdryer to soften up the glue and gently pull away the old antenna, and what do you think I found under that little puppy? Deep Deep gouges over the entire paint surface. Whats the hell is up with that? Whay would they need to scrape my paint up? I ended up putting the old box back in place just to hide the damage, and temporarily mounted the new one. I'm thinking this was totally unnecessary. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Any chance I could weasel a free roof touch up from Toyota? (doubting it)
That precisely why I don't let any dealer work on my car. Of all the satelite antennas I've installed over the years, I've never had to scratch paint up. A little wipe with alcohol and it's set. Like they got it on sideways or something and had to redo it.
