ya the reflector is not a part of the jdm headlights as its not the law there. so there is no hump.

i thought gen1 headlights are more opaque and has the city light sockets .

as compared to the gen2 headlights which are basically like our usdm ones but without the humps

1st gen's have no bump for the turn signal. They also have a city light socket. They aren't crystal clear like the newer lights.

The 2nd gen Lights are basically just like ours. Bump and all. If I am not mistaken, the one exception is HID housings can be found for aswell. But they should look just about the same.

I've got a set of 1st gens with working city lights, I bought second hand. Only place I would know to get another set, is to PM mybox.

gen 2's have a 7440 turn signal bulb (where ours is a turn signal/running light). the halogen model is still an H4 though. the HID model is a D2R w/ H7 high beam & 194 city light bulb.

Good evening everyone. As you can see, this is my first post here. I hope I am following all the rules?

Anyway, I heard someone talk about HID housings for the Scion xB in this post and was curious if someone could point me in the right direction for these. I would be interested in purchasing them for my wifes xB.

Thanks for your help and I hope to be chatting with you all quite a bit from now on.

JDM hid housings would not be good in our xBs.

main reason is that the flare is on the left hand side instead of the right side. you would blind oncoming drivers and not be able to read any signs on the side of the road.

Hey, thanks for the super fast response!

Now, when you say JDM HID housings what exactly does that mean?

Also, does anyone make a housing for HID bulbs for our xB's?

So, help me understand please. Why would HID's not work on our cars? I mean how do other cars have HIDs and not have a problem with blinding oncomming traffic and not being able to read signs?

Thanks again for your help.

One other question, I just bought my wife a 2006 xB this past Saturday and would really like to replace the head lights and tail lights. Any suggestions on the best quality and where I can find them?

Thanks again

I've gotten my very close to stock specs. I haven't had any problems since adjusting them.
