HELP! Molding above License plate on hatch broke!
Okay, so for the past month i've noticed that the rear hatch door handle was getting loose. On further investigation I found it was the molding that was broken! I was cautious about until it finally broke right the hell off today. It seems that one of the plastic bolt housings cracked off, along with the two center clips. the other bolt housing has been stripped to hell. Any Ideas on how tio fix it? I've searched all over the net, and I can't find the part, nor any other advice. Any tips would be MUCH appreciated, thanks guys!!!

Only 1. Get a new part at the dealer, or scrounge up a used part somewhere, have it painted and replace the broken one. I try not to use mine to lift the gate. I only unlatch it and then lift it from a side near the tail light...I do not trust plastic things for lifting much.
Before intalling the new rear hatch lift handle, read my mod in Recently Added Tech articles. Currently it is number 5.
All you need is two soda bottle caps, JB Weld epoxy and a sharp knife. I started a small pilot hole with an 1/8th inch drill bit. Drill the edge of the top of the cap and carve down the side and on the top to fit over the plastic standoffs. Goop the epoxy on to create a good fillet around the cap and inside the cap as well. Allow to dry for a full 24 hours before installing.

Awesome advice guys, thanks. I'm gonna try and repair it with the tech article for now, and if that fails i have an appointment at a dealership next week. I won't be lifting the hatch by the handle anymore, that's for damn sure. Just out of curiousity. does anyone know where to find a carbon fiber one?
After repairing mine I have had no difficulty lifting with the handle and it has been 3 months. Someday I will spend the $87.00 and buy a new one. As far as a CF handle, that I haven't seen but would love to have one. Then I would get a CF hatch fer sure!

although this is just a cover... i suppose i can use this instead of painting the replacement part. Hmmmm....
