Default HID kit wont work : /

Ok so I purchased a set of 8000k Hids and attempted to hook them up. Only the high beams are working. Its the Bi xenon one h4 conversion, its suppose to be Plug and Play. For some weird reason they dont work. They sent me new bulbs, and they still dont go on, so its something I am doing wrong. I did not think a relay needed to be done everything seems to be totally plug and play. Any Suggestions ?

Check to make sure that you wired it correctly. What happens when you throw the high beam switch, do the highs come on? Or are the highs on when the lows are on? Try to take some pictures of your wiring, it might help a bit.

you need a relay harness. the kit i bought said "no relay harness needed" too but i definately did.

i wanted to make my own but then i saw all the perfect matching connectors on one and said screw it and just paid the $20 for it.

its better to do it that way anyway because the HIDs suck a lot of juice when they fire up. you dont wanna risk frying your stock wiring harness, just not worth the chance.

That's not a bi-xenon kit. you'd have to have 2 ballasts if your kit was truly a bi-xenon kit. sorry bud, might want to hit up the place you purchased this from and inquire about why there's only one ballast...

Check out my write up on how to wire HIDs here:

http://www.mobilehid.com/h4.htm - some info on there might help.

Good luck man.

looks exactly like my kit. mine didn't come on at first too. the problem was the wiring was backwards. so when i pluged it in, yea red and black matched. but the schematics didn't. so i had to turn the pins around to red meeting black and vice versa. just recently i worked on it and wired it correctly myself. let me look at your kit a little more and see if i can figure out sumthing.

checking out your thread a little more. are you sure they are bi-zenons? it looks to me like single beam. take a pic of the bulb for us. you say only the highs are working. thats the thing about HIDs on stock housings unless you have projectors, the glare will make you think your highs are on but actually thats your lows. so you might have no problems, it might just be a single beam but you think it's a bi. so like i said until you take a closer pic of the bulb. my verdict stays single beam.

who says bi zenons have to have two ballasts. some doesn't need two. only one. just when you flip the highs. a little electrical current is sent to a shield that moves up or down to control the beam. i can't find the pic i'm looking for. but here's one i found only has one balast for each sided. and keep scrolling down half way and look at the telescoping H4 bi xenon bulb in one of the square box.

wanachat - yep, i know what you're talking about for the moving bulb kits... they have a higher chance of failure due to having a moving mechanism. here is the bixenon kit that I had in mind.

biancoxb - I'll send one out to you for $20 shipped. Like my kits that I sell, I'll wire it up so it's completely plug/play but since I don't have the bulbs to work on, you'll have to do some splicing.

You can order here: http://www.mobilehid.com/scionlife.htm

Thanks.

did you get this fixed? you need a relay harness. i have the exact same setup as what you bought. once you hook it up with a relay to take the power straight from the battery to the ballast it will fire right up.

hope you got this squared away

Hum wow you spent some money on those bi-xenons.

You should try getting signal from the battery its self to get rid of the "if it works" variable then you can narow it down to being your signal or the HIDs them self
