HID's w/Sonar Projector Headlights?
Is anyone here using HID's with their SONAR projector headlights? Right now I'm looking at HIDEXTRA.com. Is the HID bulb size the same for these headlights, as they would be with OEM headlights? Pictures of your lights would be great!
Am I going to need a H4 or 9003 bulb size?
Appreciate the help.

Awesome. Sounds good then. Before with the OEM, I would get flashed from time to time. I loved the HID look and miss having them. Now that I have projectors, I'm anxious about getting them again.
9006 for low beam, please don't get the high beams in HID, it will tick off other drivers since the high is not a projector housing. I wouldn't go above 6k, I got them and want to swap for 4.3k since the Sonars I got already have a blue tint on the projector.
I got the slim digital ballasts, mounted them on the shelf on the side in front of the strut towers, just used 3M red tape and they haven't come loose yet.

Highs are H1. You should never use HID for highs since the bulbs need to warm up after they're ignited. Highs don't get used super often for long periods of time and the constant on/off will kill the bulbs prematurely, not to mention they won't always get to full luminance before you have to flip back to lows.
If you have OEM housings though, you can get bi-xenon bulbs in H4 that will give you both low and high operation with the same HID bulb, they're awesome.

I'm sure the bi-xenon look good but stay away from them unless it's a show car. The stock xB reflector housings don't cut the beam off cleanly and give a lot of glare and hot spots, making it like you always have your highs on to the driver ahead of you in his mirror. The Sonar projectors actually have a metal plate behind the lens that provides the clean cut-off. I've seen some motorcycles use what's called a casper shield that does essentially the same thing, but they're hard to find. They look like this:
I've got projectors in my '06 RS3.0 with stock bulbs. Since HIDs have different filament placement, they'll scatter light. If you switched to HIDs with projectors, do you get flashed by other drivers? How much more often? Once a night, every night, all the time?
With the Sonar's, I've never been flashed. The filament placement does make a hotspot with each bulb, but it stays below the cut-off. I've never been flashed, the biggest problem is that the cut-off is so good, you can't read street signs, and speed limit signs are hard to see at night because there is no light to reflect that high. Since the cut-off is due to a metal plate between the internal reflector and the lens, it is not affected by the filiment placement.
I'll try and post pics this evening.

Thanx for the advice/suggestions everyone. I ordered my 6K HID Kit from www.HIDEXTRA.com today. Should be delivered in a couple days. I'll try and post pics when I get them.
