why does everyone have to hate? so you dont like it, who cares. i think this will get the judges attention at the show, isnt that what its all about? i saw darrells car in person and it is wild. the doors swing out like stock too, so its not like he has to grease himself up to get in.

hey randode - i'm not hating, just voicing my opinion - i think it's rad he got sponsored and is the 1st to inovate with lambo doors even if i don't like it.

i've said it 1000 times here, if it's your thing, then DO IT and don't listen to people that don't feel your style, especially me ;)

I just want to know what's next. Suicide doors or it would be cool to do that to the hood also. Have it swing out diagnally at one hinge. Than do hydraulics and have everything posed at different angles.

If any of you Jokers have ever seen the car up close, that is not an stock hood, it's a cf hood that's been candied to match the color of the car. This car is for show and not a stocker like what most of us are driving. So big props to D for being the 1st to have lambo doors, it might not be for all, but it will score big points at the shows. Remember to always think outside the box and always be open to new ideas.

Thanks for all the comments, positve and negative. Its all about personal choice. I know people might not like it, do I care? Nope. I bought the xB because it was different, I like to unique. How many times do we as Scion owners get comments like "That is one ugly car", or "What were you thinking when you bought that?". I'm quite used to it and it doesn't bother me at all. The main reason why I wanted to do the lambo doors was for car shows, to stand out. Is the car hard to get into? Yes. Does it get peoples attention wherever I go? Hell yes. But its all for show baby! =)
I just can't look cool opening or closing the door =P

You don't actually think I would spend $2300.00 on door hinges now do ya? =P

In that pic, the doors are set closer to the body, once its done, they can be made to swing open a little bit farther.

Actually the xB is the hardest car to date for Vertical Doors to make this conversion. It was in the shop for almost 2 weeks, and it still needs new fenders made. The hinge itself is awesome craftsmanship.

I stand behind Darrell by saying this is one of the best mods on a Scion I have ever seen. Darrell asked me personally to help him out when he decided to do this.

I went with him to drop off the car, I toured the factory where they make the hinges, and I went with him to pick up the car.

The work that was done is not an easy thing to do. I guess it's hard to understand when you're not involved with the project.

I give Darrell mad props for having the guts to do something like this.

I think it looks awesome and we should be supportive of each other, no matter what mods we do.

like i said before, you get mad props from me for inovating as the 1st xB with the lambo doors, even if i don't like the way they look. as long as your happy that's all that matters, and who knows when i see them in person i may change my tune - could just be the angle of the pictures, who knows?

but i don't see why anyone should not voice their opinion just becuase it's negative :?
