Default Limo The back windshield

ok so i have noticed that the back of the xb is fairly simple to see through especially on the highway it just has a great view inside. I have had my back window smashed biefore and it shattered into bits so I was thinking of limoing it since I cant touch any of my other windows due to the harsh ticketing here in NYC. I figure it will make the rest of the windows appear really dark at night withouth touching them since they are straight and if the back window shatters again it will catch some of the shards or most. But will the tint mess around with the rear defog or antenna ?

You are allowed any level of tint on the back window in NY. So yea, you can do that. It might look kinda weird though. And no, it won't interfere with the defroster.

I put 20% all the way around on my box. That made the back windows darker than 20% because they are already darkend from the factory. Looks pretty close to limo, and its hard to see in during the day, and almost impossible at night. But from the outside durin the day you can see the outline of the seats and my head when you're driving behind me.

an older pic:

you I dont think 20% is legal here in TX, but people have told me otherwise...

If you are doing only to contain chunkage, have it coated with clear UV stuff instead. That way you will still be able to see out at night.

If you don;t want people to see you though the back window, you have to go limo (5%)

I put 20% over the privacy glass hoping it would end up limo dark, but you can still see my outline, even at night.

The defogger will be fine, but you will have a harder time seeing at night.

I have limo all around.... in CALI hahah! I drive with my front windows down at all times and still haven't had a popo problem in the last 2 years. Anyway, go for it! I love it, hard to see out of at night but well worth it!

Wasn't able to get pix today got sidetracked but abso yes. My fronts are legal, 20% and they damn near appear as dark as my back windows. Yes it will make it darker and I would do the rear window and the two in front of them.

yeah just doing the back will make the entire inside of the car appear darker.

I would limo all the windows minus the front 2.

What are you a vampire?
5% is not dark enough?
Sheesh, why dont you guys just put black vinyl on there so you let absolutley NO light in! LOL

If you limo the back window, 20% on top of the already factory tinted glass is dark enough to where people cant see in.

Next thing I'm going to read is how somebody decided to paint the glass black from the inside...

lol you can still see in the back window at night even with 5 percent cause the front isnt tinted lets light though so i might just put some like 50% on the fron windsheild i have a tint strip but it would be better if the whole thing was tinted lol

Like was mentioned above, tinting the back will not give you 100% darkness. You could go 2 layers and get better coverage, but unless you paint the rear glass youll always have light coming in from the front.

On mine i have 20% on all the rear glass ( from the B pillars back ) and limo on the front to match. If you stand on the side of my car and try and look in you cant see inside at all. This is because there is an equal amount of tint on the other side of the car. I have literally had people walk up and cup their hands to look inside the car, and cant. I know they cant cause i make faces from the inside and they still dont see me. Its not until i roll down the window that they have this look of shock for being noisey.
