Default looking to go vertical

i'm kind of tired going to school/work and having to park in dang tiny parking spaces. so now i want vertical doors so i don't have to really worry about me wacking some ones car and the same time i don't have to squeeze through to get out. so i want to know what kind of vertical door hing i should get. and at what degree. 90 or 130. what brand and if i should do it myself or get a shop to install it. also is it risky to bye some of the hinges from some of the ebay dealers? thanks.

http://scionpro.com/

Scion Pro has a brand new set of 130s that they worked with autolock to develop. The seem like the best working set around for the xb right now.

Most likely if you're asking that then take it to a shop. IMO.

def a diy... just need some tools and some common sense... but if you are getting a good kit aka weld on then have it go to a shop!!! weld on kits can be reinforced and adjusted to make perfect... bolt ons can be reinforced and lined up but the positioning on them is limited to what the bolt holes are!!! i dont know i am new at all of this but i have been putting them on for a few months and did mine so i have some knowledge!

they arent bolt on... so unless you can line them up and professionally weld them on i would say bring it to a shop! those doors arent to mess around with.....

verticle doors look dumb , cause problems , and it is MUCH harder to get in and out of the car.

it may or may not look dumb, but at least it will lessen my denting worries when i get out and the wind can't swing it hard wide open. i just hate it when the wind does that. i want the 130 degree. goes literally vertical so no hard time getting out.

umm.. .what about the idiot with the POS car who parks next to you and doesn't care about if they hit your doors?

If your that worried, park far away. I know your in hawaii, and i also know the parking lots are small because there isn't alot of room (i've been there, so i've seen it with my own eyes), but i'd think its everyone else you have to worry about

Then there is the ugly side of modding your doors. We had a civic come up the shop to get a stereo installed and he had some cheap lambo doors. You had to open the door normally then swing it up, well push it really. I wacked my head on the door quite a few times getting in and out. Then I was looking closely at the hinge system and noticed that his fender was all bent in where the door was hitting it and you could see it pop in and out as the door passed the top edge.

I personally would like to have a set of vertical doors. Lambos style doors are played out, and look kinda trashy on the xb. (and I don't want to hit my head). Whereas with a vertical door, it would be much easyer to get in and out and it doesn't look half bad.

Just my two cents.
