Default Lowering this.. PIC(56k OK)

I have had my xb for a little while now and want to lower it around 2-3 inches. Im not looking into spending tons of money on an airbag system, but want the same effect. Scion offers their lowering springs but its only around 1.2 inches. What would you recommend for me to use, and stay in a low budget price range. I have 18 inch rims and there is a gap between my tires and the body of the car, it should be visible in the picture provided.

Tanabe df210, 160$~ shipped, would be enough of a drop for your 18" IMO. It's what i have so it's all i can recommend (i only have 15" tho). I just installed them on my xB today, but i had them on my Echo that i traded in and they were nice, even more of a drop on the heavier xB.

exactly what rebelMan recommended, Tanabe DF210's. I have them on my RS2 with 18s. Here a before and after pic:

Before (Stock ride height):

After (with DF210's):

That's the lowest you will go on springs. 2.2"F and 2.0" rear. The largest drop you can get on a spring based system is 2.8" on tein coilovers, but would run you around $800+. These springs ride just fine on stock struts and shocks but while ur at it, swapping over to Waydo Sportivo (TRD) struts & shocks are worth it for the $$$ ($291 for full suspension, TRDsparks.com)

If you want around 3", you'll def find urself into some big bucks with an air-ride setup.

Sorry but your information is INCORRECT! HKS type C coilovers will go down about 4" in the rear and about 4.56" in front. I know because i had these coilovers on my Box.

Cusco Vacanza wagon coilovers will also go down around 4" too.

I hope you don't have an after market exhaust if you're gonna drop that low >.<

I had 3 different aftermarket exhausts without any problems. You just need to get used to driving up and down and over driveways and speedbumps sideways. Its not that bad guys. The Scions are really really high in stock form. A 3" drop is very mild.

Buy coilovers instead of tanabe springs. With that many dead coils, the ride will be crap.

i personally love the ride on my tanabes. the only reason i would change them out is to get coilovers so i can go lower, and i have to roll my passenger side rear fender as it is

i'm with you on this one, the only way i'd take the Tanabe's off is to put air in it's place, and i'm not sure if i want to do that yet

I agree. Not sure why people are so worried about the dead coils. apparently they haven't owned DF210's and just go by what they would expect. I love the ride compared to stock, it's not as harsh as it was stock. I say Tanabe's.

it aint bad, i've finally driven on a long highway trip with them on and it was fun, the drop is awesome though, especially when you park next to a stock xB and stand back and see how low your roof is compared to their's ^_^
