Default Made My own front grille!! PIX!!

Ok well I decided once I started making front grilles for the box that I wanted to make a one of a kind for mine. well sorta one of a kind, I have been staring at a grille on a TCM that is not available and decided to change it up a little bit and attempt to make it. the grille I started off of was this one

well i decided to make this but change a few minor things about it, I am not very fond of the shape in the center coming down onto the bumper so I wanted that shorter I also wanted the vents more curved so I set off and broke out the fiberglass and fleece and started shaping. in order to keep my secret safe Ill show a couple of pics in the middle of the process that dont really give anything away

This was one of the test fits on the car before I had the surface shaped completely just to be sure it hadnt warped. BTW I know the shape in the center was off it was like 4 in the morning and I was a little tipsy I ended up cutting it off and redoing that section.

and another once I have it shaped more and filled some areas

These two are after primer one of the grille and the other a final fitment

I am actually not finished yet I am still deciding what to paint it I am torn between going body color and possibly overlaying another color later or maybe going black. but I figured I would post up and let everyone see the progress thus far.

Hope you enjoy. any feedback is welcome
and also dont forget I am open to suggestions on what kinds of grilles to experiment with next. anything you want to see that isnt out or just want something custom let me know.

Very nice job. I saw the first pic and thought that was it. I was going to tell you to stick with your day job But the last pic looks very nice. Its different than anything out there and you did it by hand so thats something to be proud of.

That is impressive. I think it would look best in body color...

Thanks for all the great comments. well last night after my post I just decided to go ahead and paint it but I didnt have body color so I went black with it. Looked great until I actually put it on the car. I definitly have to invest in some body color because it sticks out too much. I will keep everyone updated with some pics soon.

Your grille looks just as good! Keep up the good work!

From the shape of it, I'm going to assume that you cut the middle of the stock grill out and went from there.

Thanx zach

Max no I didnt cut up the stock grille at all as a matter of fact I shaved the center holes out of the stock grille so I have another custom grille to choose from.lol I actually posted pics of it somewhere on here I dont remember where though.

This one was completely from scratch.
