hey, your car your wallet your mods, im not gonna try and stop ya, but make sure that you know what you want before permenatly mounting it! mock it with some double sided tape, take a few pics, and think about it
Actually, some top mount spoilers would work okay...I'm thinking of something superlow, tho. Like the trunk spoiler from some of those mid 90's ford cars...like off a taurus, or the zx2. Those only rise up about an inch from the trunk.
Be careful, tho. Our cars are flat on top, and too much angle to a spoiler can actually give you crappy mileage, or even slow you down (and no xB needs that).

I've been looking into that for awhile. I think the right wing would look awesome on a box.
Here's the main problem- open your hatch and check out how much of the top painted section goes below the roof edge when it's fully opened. What's left is all you have to work with for mounting a wing, maybe like 2 inches. I found a wing that fits the contours of the back perfectly, but because of the whole roof thing there is no way to mount it.
The only way that I've seen to mount a wing to our trunk is billet brackets that they use for those horrendous wings on dually pickup trucks and ultra-rice cars... ick.
Another option would be a wing that mounts above the C-pillars that completely clears the trunk opening, and high enough so that when the door is open the underside of the wing does not get in the way (maybe 3 inches gap...) I think this could work but the end result would be a bit too A-team/******* wagon for my taste.
Let me know if you come up with anything, been trying to figure it out for a year now
