So I can do it either way. Good. How big of a pain was painting the box for the backup on the inside, since it is textured?

I painted it on the inside, don't have to worry about clear coating it or it getting scratched. I have done two sets now, the first one I taped off the center area where the reflector and reverse areas are. I got a little bleed under the tape that way. The next set I did I used liquid mask on those around the perimeter and put tape on top of that to cover the middle of that area. You just have to careful when taking the lense off to make sure you don't break it.

they all look good, but i thinks its funny how every car used to have red lens back in the day and the euro or white out tail lamps were the mod. now the xb comes with the mod tail light and people are painting them back red. go figure

Well, I just want a different look than stock, but I really don't want to spend $150 or more when I can paint them for $10 and get a look thats a little different than everyone elses.

But you are correct... no matter what a manufacturer makes, we will always wanna change it, lol.

Wow bro, nice job on the lights. I am really enjoying the ease of modifications our little x-boxes offer us. I came from the Honda tuner pond but am having more fun tuning my xB than I ever did with my Integra. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I'd prefer to black them, but I'm not sure what the law is here in Illinois about lights.

I hate the stock, ricer, silver tail lights. Nice job with the black ones, and those red lights look awesome.

Aw man! I'm jealous. I like the red, but I also like cars with yellow blinkers, a lot of American cars have red blinkers and it ____es me off.
Could I just paint the top half?

You could paint just the top, or the whole lense and just leave it open for the reverse and turn signal areas. I am not sure, but maybe they make a transparent yellow.

They probably do. How much do you think it devalues the car to change something like this? I don't want another car ever, but if I trade it in...

Not much I would think, but you can play it safe and buy a used set of stock ones from ebay or someone here and paint them.
