Default Need info on this part

Ok new to this site, tried to find what I was looking for and part of the problem is I have no clue what the part name is. Ok I have an 06' XB. The part in question is that box looking thing under the car just behind the rear axil and mounted on the spare tire hump with hoses coming out of it. Could it be an external fuel pump if so why is it mounted at an angle? Another question is could this part be relocated or at least remounted it at a different angle? The reason why I am asking I am looking into bagging the box but the place said the tanks would not fit under the car. Looking to use 2 -3 gallon tanks. Not looking to show it off just for parking stance and clearing driveways and speed bumps. Has anyone moved that part or at least mounted their tanks in that location, if so what size tanks did you use? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Tanks will fit under the car. My friends have theirs under there. You could even rock 1 3 gallon pancake tank in the spare tire location and another one under the car.

The box is a charcoal cannister to collect gasoline fumes when the car is not running. They are then purged into the intake when the car is running.

The fuel pump is in the gas tank.
