Anyone here paint the car over with a fresh coat of factory colored paint? Will most likely be purchasing another xB (After crashing my 05 TCM nearly a year ago) and depending on how it looks/what I want to do with it am already thinking of getting a fresh paint job done. Just wondering how much it'd cost, and if it'd be worth the extra $$$ to go through a Toyota dealer or someone else.

 

It'll cost about as much as you're willing to spend.

 

The dealer will just send it out to a paint/body shop, and pocket a nice chunk of change along the way for their troubles.

Go to the source directly and cut out the dealership.

 

You might as well go with custom paint or a different tone of color...it will cost about the same as a factory color change....

 

custom will be more because they have to do the door jams, and if you repaint it the same color they wont have to do that.

 

Personally, I would spend $1,000 max. I would like to get my paint redone, especially because the plastic bumpers have some scratches and scrapes.

 

paint ranges from 600-4000+ depending on what you want painted, what kinda paint, how much a good shop will charge. forget the dealership cause they dont do any inhouse painting stuff at all. they just outsource like others have said. it all depends on what you want.

cheaper paint jobs are usually crappy. so if you dont mind crappy paint go for it. remember you get what you pay for. especially for paint!

 

Look to spend $1500 at a reputable place.

But if your looking for an xB, Im looking to sell. and mine only needs paint and a dash board...

do your home work and shop around. i was quoted prices in ranges from $2,300 - $7,000 to repaint mine, half being the factory Hot Lava. I paid 3K for my paint job including a 2 week car rental. Something else one may have to consider if you are going to have a car painted. And just like everything else in life, its gonna take longer then your intally told to get the job done. All in all, im happy with what i got.
