Default new roof

When replacing a 1st gen xb roof is it best to cut down a few inches into the posts or does it matter(safety/structure)?

What are you even talking about dude? You have wasted so many new threads because your questions are one-liners and don't even make sense, such as this one. Let's start with what needs to be actually replaced, for example, what is the damaged or replaced part? You don't need to cut the whole thing, you can just cut around the damaged area. And one you touch the pillars, that car is considered a total loss. What are you trying to do? Or who are you trying to help? Since again, you are making a career out of this.

Cut right beyond the damage and weld on the new full piece.
