Default New windshield installed wrong, pics inside

I had a new windshield installed on my box yesterday, and it doesn't look right. I'm going to call them, but am hoping that it can be confirmed that the windshield was installed too low. Look at the gap between the moulding and the body and let me know what you think. It's also not straight. I really think the moulding should go up another 1/4" or so to touch the body.
If other people can take and post pics of what the top of their windshield looks like, I'd appreciate it.

Definately not right - there should be no gap there - the rubber should be going over the roof sheet metal edge.

nope, no scratches, just dusty. Thanks for that pic swartz, that's exactly what I needed.
GreenLantern, I disagree. That gap is where water's going to collect. I may live in the desert, but I still wash my car.
The glass company is going to redo the install with a new piece of glass on Wednesday. The glue needs to fully cure before they can pull the window back out, to avoid a gooey, stringy mess.

Ouch... They should watch out for that stuff... did the people that installed it not even pay attention to where the original was?

They likely just forgot or tought they did not need the stop blocks that are normally part of a windshield install to keep the windshield from dropping in the opening as the adhesive sets.

youd figure with as many xBs that need window replacments, that would be a issue, my xBs windshield is the same way...i think both are!!

The rubber looks correct. the wiondshield just needs to be slid up in the opening to push the rubber edge against the roof. when it is positioned properly the rubber edge of the moulding will be bent in a U between the glass and the roof, sealing the gap tightly.

Not the xB windshield and it fits thta close WOW - keep up posted as to how well it does when ricks hit it. I would be concerned with your next head-on accident and how well that glass stays in the frame. One of the problems with poorly installed glass is it tends to blow out when an accident occurs and ends up injuring or not protecting the passengers. I would cover that gap up with some good vinyl tape as it will colledt rain and wash down the sides rusting out the windshield frame when dirt gets trapped in it.

Yeah that is FUBAR. When I had mine replaced they actually used blue painters tape on the top to stop the windshield from sliding until it set. I know that every time I have seen a windshield replaced they always put tape to hold it in place until it sets. I'd have them come back and re-do that ASAP!

I had a glass place incorrectly install a windshield on my box last fall. There was an awful air leak at 40 mph...then when it rained it leaked water to the inside of my windshield. I was not happy to say the least, but the glass company did right and kept my car in their bay until the adhesive cured and replaced it with a new windshield.

So, the same installer came to my work today with a new piece of glass. I had a chance to talk to him, as I wasn't around the first time. It turns out that the glass was made incorrectly. He showed me where the glass was pushed up into the corners, but in the middle was where it was too low. I hadn't really paid attention to it. But, the new piece is a much better fit, and is being help up with tape that I'm supposed to remove later.
He also used a new rubber seal.
