Default OE TUNING

for all you out there just want to let you know alittle thing that botheres me. Im sporting an OE cf hood and got others to get hoods to but what annoys me is that they are laggy in responding to phone calls and getting back in touch with thier sponsored cars. Darrel was promised an cf hood with a scoop. but was given a oem it has been a week that he has left messages with jerry and no call. Then I hear from steve that jerry is talking ____ about him because he is selling cf hoods also. Well i see it this way if you cant conduct proper business you will suffer.

yes, that is true. you have to respect your competitors, especially in the internet age. be nice, everyone. let your product speak for itself.

i have dealt with a lot of companies that manufacturer bodykits and parts and they all tend to lag. most of the time the sponsored cars suffer from this. i also never understand why companies like that are not upfront about what is happening. they will always dodge the person and/or tell them something to keep them from calling for a couple days. the best thing to do is to relax and just keep in contact with them. bugging them and putting them down will not get product any faster.

If this is the case then...OE TUNING WILL NOT BE WELCOME TO ANY OF THE TSW MEETS AND EVENTS!

I know that they came by to check out the cars and I spoke to both Steve and Jerry...that is not cool for Jerry from OE Tuning to talk about other manufacturers especially when Steve from bBist has been part of TSW for some time and he never pushes his products nor say anything negative about other manufacturers. I actually have to tell members what he has coming out since he does not want to mix the meetings with him doing business...that's how humble he is.

Also he did not ask or force me to run his sticker. I did it since he is part of Team Scion West and has done a lot to help the team as well as Scion dealers. These are the type of people you would like to deal with. He even told me that I don't have to be exclusive to his products...I can take out the sticker anytime and there is no contract to have a HUGE sticker for a year..Not to talk bad about Ryan , Jason and Darrell...but since they have those huge OE Tuning stickers on the side of thier cars and about 70% of the hood..they limit themselves to other sponsors..all the real estate on their cars are gone!

If you want me to be HONEST...I saw the hood on Darrell's car and the damn thing is so unstable, it vibrates like crazy when you drive and it might be scary for someone who drives a lot on the freeway since it seems like it will just unlatch and fly off!

I have seen Steve's hood on Elroys car and the hood has a special backing that allows it to be flexible like the stock hood so that if would not crack the resin....cost a little bit more to make but this IS A QUALITY HOOD! He drove with the hood going 90 all the way to San Diego and no problems at all..

He is not paying me to say this but in my opinion it's a far more superior hood than OE Tunings.....I am saying it as a consumer and not as a friend of Steve's.
Better yet...come out to the meet and check out Darrell's hood and look at Elroy's hood..you decide.

Again, if manufacturers are going to the meets and talk smack about other manufactures and exploit our team members...then you ARE NOT WELCOME...I will escort you to leave myself...as well as 70 of our members....if you don't like it ..then though..bring your business elsewhere....I don't see Extreme Dimensions/Carbon Creations, Nish Designs and bBist talk smack..so why would you!!!!

Sorry to sound rude but things like this gets my blood boiling!!!!

If you want to go to the meets...just hang out and have fun and let me, Darrell, Elroy or Rob talk about your products...just don't show up and have your own agenda...if this happens...you'll get the boot..I guarantee it!!!

Darrell,

Another thing is that it sounds like a breach of contract from their part..

If I were you..I'll take all the stickers off...and give them back the hood...or even better..keep the hood for all the hassles and put some hood pins on it for safety...

Just my 2 cents.

It's kinda weird that they called Darrell a couple of hours after this thread was posted by Green Bean (Ryan A.)
I know that Darrell tried to contact him a couple of occassions since Darrell has limited availability since he is working crazy shifts and working on other people's cars in the morning. When Darrell called and blocked his number Jerry picked up ..so you know he was screening calls.

Funny that he mentioned that he had surgery due to a sprain on his foot 2 weeks ago..when he handed the loaner hood to Darrell just a week and a half ago...hmmm...

Either way, I think that it's unprofessional for a manufacturer to play games with you since you already signed on the dotted line....

If he did have surgery then I hope he gets well soon...but still this is no reason to talk smack about your competitors and have members who were sponsored take of all stickers even it they had other company stickers before they came out to our meet....to me that is just not right....

Hope they get this message and at least make an effort to communicate better so this would not happen again...as it is right now...I don't think most Scion owners would want to do business with a company that does not even have the decency to follow up with customers especially after almost a week of inquiries. There are going to be at least 8-10 companies offering CF hoods and prices are practically the same..I guess this will boil down to quality and customer service....

well since everyone is jumping on the hate O.E. Tuning bandwagon, i might as well join in. actually, i have no personal experience with them, (other then them approaching me about a sponsorship back in june and then never returning my emails when i said i was interested) however some of my subaru friends have been ripped off by O.E. tuning and they lost a lot of money. here's proof if you're interested:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=403606

and it's not like this was a long time ago. some of these posts are from last week!

Eric,

I know.. I remember when your car was featured here in Scion Life then OE Tuning hit you up...that was like ages ago..funny that they showed up at D1 when they noticed the the Scion class and TSW was getting bigger and bigger...I just feel bad for Darrell since I was supposed to get that hood and told them to give it to Darrell instead since I have 2 sponsors offering me a CF hood already....but if I would have known upfront how they are and that you have to run all those big ___ stickers for a long time then I would have warned Darrell....

Oh well...there are a lot of companies offering team discounts and group buys to all Scion Life users..I am sure that if it boils down to quality and customer service...those upcoming companies will come up ahead...

By the way if you are a Team Scion West member, check this thread on our forum:

Best way to get out of a sponsorship is send the crap back. If you send the product back then there is no issue & you wont have to run a decal bigger than the hood.

I think safety is important, and from the looks of the underside of the hood , Im scared for the TSW members running the hood.

Hope they dont make fenders. :?

Default hmm...

its sad when stuff liek this happens, but thats part of life. I've had cross sponsors on my old show car that one side says something about another. Very unprofessional imho. Worse case scenario, just return the product and look for new sponsors. I hope all goes well with TSW after this, and look at this as a learning experience more than anything. :D sponsors r sponsors, you can always find new ones. once again, hope all is good with everyone and i cant make it to the meet this sunday.

lates

After all this hassle and still not getting what was promised, I am indeed going to return the hood. I have had several offer for CF hoods and I will be going with one of them. I can only strees what Adrian has already said, if any manufacturer wants to bad mouth any other manufacturer, its not only bad business, its untolerable. I have never had any problems with any sponsors up until now. Kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth. After seeing the other threads on the WRX forums, I don't want any TSW members or anyone for that matter to have to go through that. Thats just not how business is done.

I volunteer to help out Steve cuz he's been real nice to me. If you ever need a friendly yet big, strong guy backing TSW up, gimme a ring :D

Hi, I was browsing around (see sig) and we had a group buy on O.E. tuning carbon fiber hoods, I wasn't a part of it, but it didn't turn out too well.

The actual thread on it was deleted and another was made, heres an excerpt-
hey guys, that was me who deleted the thread

i was told to delete the thread by jerry of OETuning, so i complied with his wishes

please contact OETuning through email or phone

i am also disappointed by how this GB went, it was long and tedious, and in the end, the hoods were not satisfactory.

everyone who is not happy with the hood, please contact OETuning immediately and demand for action
