The only thing I can remember is that they were made out of rubber and you could stick them on top of your fenders with double sided tape. They originally came in black but you could paint them as well my bro had them on his Celica back in the 80”s I later saw them ona TOYOTA CELICA TURBO GR,5 1979 TOM'S 261 racing Celica here is a pic http://ewacars.com/md/ebb557.jpg and on what look to be a old NISSAN cube. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z.../I_LAPIN_5.jpg Please help me find this This hot lava has them on http://www.newscionparts.com/index.php?id=31 I asked the Scion parts store if they had them they told me that they dont carry that part and that it could be part of a Kensttyle kit who knows Please help me in my quest to find these rare fender wings.

Wow - another blast from the past! They used to make those for 1st Gen. VW GTIs, too, along with a few other "aero" parts to help the boxy car's aerodynamics. They were called "wind-splitters", and were designed to manage the flow of air over the car. I haven't seen those in years.
The funny thing is, I've always thought of my xB as the siritual successor to my '83 GTI...

P.S. Shouldn't this be in the "Aero & Exterior" forum???

I love these things!!!!

Before I had ever seen them, I always wanted something like this so that when you raise the back of the hood (w/ spacers or washers) it doesnt look so ugly.
These splitters would fill in that gap nicely but still keep the function of relieving heat or inducting cold air.

Holy crap! Thats exactly the first thing I thought of. Filling the bodyline gap caused by my hood spacers. Those would be amazing. I dont know why I didnt think of something like this before. I can totally just make these now that I know theyre so hot. Thanks!
