Very sick, I was thinking something similar to this at the top of my hatch frame in my tC. I wonder if 4th brake-lights are legal.

 

Ok so this will be my first how-to write up so go easy on me

1) First thing I did was take the 3rd brake light apart. There are 2 bolts. You just remove them and it pops out. I then took the light bulb out and kept the connector for the third brake light wried. I DID NOT CUT THE FACTORY WIRES. I had a connector for a 194 from oznium that you get when you buy a dome light from them. I simply wired that to the Paraniha light and pluged it in.

2) I then bought some Stanley Mending plates that worked perfect. There are 2 predrilled holes and I screwed the provided holder to one hole and screwed in the other part to the metal above the window



3) I then drilled a piolt whole above the window(Be careful not to hit the glass) and I dremled down some screws so that they were really short and I mounted the brackets to the window.



Here is a view from the inside the problem Im having is making it look nice from the inside. So any ideas are welcome



I had fun doing this and I really like it it looks sweet and is very bright.

 

Maybe you could carve a mockup housing out of foam, and make it out of fiberglass, or have someone vacuum form one?

 

Yea, a glassed housing would make this very, very pro.

Good idea! Maybe you could use a black PVC pipe...... Would be really easy to cut.

 

how i thought of that i couldnt tell you. wed worked 12 hrs, 5 hrs sleep, got up at 7 and put headlights/taillights on car and was at work at 3 to midnight and back today and 930. TGIF!!!!

 

plus using the pipe, you might be able to use the stock location and not have to drill extra holes.

 

just bought this light bar and a dome light. Prolly do it this weekend. Was shipped out couple hrs after I ordered it.

robbie - did you have to add some wire to get it hooked up. Looking at yours above it looks like you did.

Also just a thought, without measuring, could put 2 up there. Have it all the way across, though there would be a gap in the center.

 

yes i added about 18inches of wire. I thought about 2 aswell but i didnt want the gap
