Looking back: I probably should of put the fairing* alittle closer to the front of the car, I'm not sayin it makes any type of noise or anything cause it works great, but its a windjammer...

I read it makes alot of wind noise without the fairings
Mine made very little wind noise, but with the DaKine pads it makes zero wind noise.

I've asked this a few times before on other roof rack related threads, but I cant seem to find an answer. Where did you guys get your yakima fairings? and how big are they to fit the box? I want one bad. anyway, heres my box with a 16 foot canoe on top. I love the rack, definitely my favorite option.

whoa this I gotta see

you could always create a flickr account... that's where a lot of my personal pics are. more than just a simple uploader.

here's my 06 BOP with the full rack. 48" fairing, I think. From Dick's sporting goods (was the biggest one they had in stock and was an open item... hello 20% off )

Yakima only makes fairing in sizes 32", 38", 44", 50". Yakima recommends using the 50" for the Scion xB. It fits nicely on mine... any shorter would look weird.

You can buy it at any local sporting goods store. For a better deal, find a local bike shop that sells Yakima products, and they should have the fairing. Right now is a good time to buy from a local bike shop because the season has change, so they usually give good discounts at this time (even cheaper when winter comes).

I'd definately like to swap for a larger one if I can ever find someone trying to trade. Looks better with the bigger fairing.

anyone have any problems with the clamping system on the yakima racks?
What im wondering is if the provided vinyl strips that wrap around the metal clamps is sufficient "protection" on our paint. I just look at it and think man what if happens to rub against the paint the wrong way.

i only had mine on for a couple of months and when I took it off, the paint was fine. it might be a problem if you NEVER remove your rack. Rocks and dirt could get stuck in between and destroy your paint that way. It's always good practice to take it off whenever you wash your vehicle, anyway.

You might want to get some stick on felt (the stuff that goes on the underside of tablelamps, etc)from home depot for added protection.
